We have just announced the author list for this year's Port Fairy Literary Weekend! After four years of programming this weekend, we have come to expect that there will be some changes between here and the 6th of September, but this is where it stands right now. We have packed as much as we possibly can into the one weekend, with the ability for our audiences to see every single session on the main program without the agony of having to choose! You can view the list of authors here. (Please note that there may be some changes between now and then.) The full program will be online by the end of the week.
Tickets will also be available online shortly, and we'd strongly recommend that a weekend pass is the way to go. This means that you not only receive a generous discount on the ticketing, but that you are guaranteed a seat at every event offered, and you will be throwing your complete support behind our festival.
Not included in the weekend pass is the Saturday Night Gala Dinner at the Oak & Anchor. This will sell out very quickly - it certainly did last year - and places are extremely limited. Most of our invited authors will be there, so it's a great chance to meet and say hello to your literary heroes. Over the course of the dinner you'll be treated to conversation and entertainment by some absolute legends of the Australian literary and music scene.
Another thing to note is that our very own Jock Serong is launching his seventh novel, Cherrywood, as the FINALE to our festival. This is not because we think he should wait his turn. It's because his novel officially launches on 4 September, and he will be attending to a raft of publishing events in the Big Smoke before our Sunday finale. We would love it if you could plan to stick around to the very end of the festival (stay another night!) to give Jock the local launch he so richly deserves.
